Macklemore says he will donate $1 million earned from Ed Sheeran’s U.S. Loop Tour to six organizations supporting humanitarian relief for Palestinians.
The announcement followed Macklemore’s removal from the tour after comments he made in support of Palestinians during a concert. He also called on New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, whose company operates Gillette Stadium, to match the donation.
The situation developed further when Ed Sheeran contacted Kraft and committed $2 million toward humanitarian assistance in the region. Kraft then agreed to match Sheeran’s contribution with another $2 million.
