Dollywood is preparing a series of new permanent experiences celebrating Dolly Parton and her connection to the Smoky Mountains. In a recent park announcement, Dollywood Parks & Resorts outlined several additions designed to reflect her music, values, childhood roots, and longtime support of literacy.
Among the planned updates, the Robert F. Thomas Chapel will receive a cascading mountainside waterfall and new stained-glass windows inspired by the changing seasons of the Great Smoky Mountains. The plans also include a new character called the Dream Maker, expected to debut in Wildwood Grove in 2027 and inspired by Parton’s work encouraging children to read and pursue their dreams.
Interactive kiosks will give visitors a place to share memories and describe how Parton influenced their lives. The Dolly Parton Experience will also receive a redesigned entrance along with updates to its exhibits.
