Olivia Rodrigo has released The Cure, the second single from her upcoming third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love. The track arrived on May 22 with an official music video, continuing the rollout for the album, which is scheduled for June 12.
Rodrigo has described The Cure as one of her favorite songs on the project. The song was written with Dan Nigro, her longtime collaborator, and follows the earlier single Drop Dead. Together, the releases point to a new chapter after Sour and GUTS, both of which helped establish her as one of pop’s most visible young songwriters.
The video places Rodrigo in a surreal hospital setting, with scenes built around a nurse and patient concept. The title has also drawn attention because Rodrigo has publicly admired the band The Cure and performed with Robert Smith at Glastonbury in 2025. She has clarified that the new song is separate from the band.
