As expected, Paul McCartney has announced a full covers album of his recent one-man-band McCartney III collection. Personally curated by the former-Beatle, III (3) Imagined will be released on April 16th, and “features an A-List assortment of friends, fans and brand new acquaintances, each covering and/or reimagining their favorite McCartney III moments in their own signature styles.”
Artists on the set are: Beck, Damon Albarn, St. Vincent, Josh Homme from Queens Of Stone Age, Anderson .Paak, Blood Orange, Dominic Fike, Radiohead's Ed O'Brien, Idris Elba, Khruangbin, 3D RDN from Massive Attack, and Phoebe Bridgers.
During a recent chat on his official PaulMcCartney.com website, “Macca” was asked whether his studio tracks are all mapped out in his head before he brings the songs into the studio: “Y'know, when you're writing the song, you just get a feeling of how its going to sound, and then you record it and it changes. It kinda morphs into the record.”
