The upcoming Snoop Dogg biopic is taking shape with a cast built around some of the most important people in the rapper’s personal life and early career. The film’s casting announcements place Jonathan Daviss in the lead role as Snoop Dogg, while several other actors will portray major names connected to his rise in West Coast hip-hop.
As production details continue to emerge, the announced lineup includes Myles Bullock as Dr. Dre and Camron Jones as Tupac Shakur. Lauren London will play Snoop’s mother, Beverly Tate, while Laya DeLeon Hayes has been cast as his wife, Shante Broadus.
The film will also feature Tre Hale as Suge Knight, Algee Smith as Warren G, Corey Champagne as Nate Dogg, Olly Sholotan as Kurupt, and Jonica Booth as The Lady of Rage.
