Ariana Grande has opened a new chapter with the music video for hate that i made you love me, a dark visual built around heartbreak, guilt, and a haunting that refuses to stay buried.
The new release presents the song as the lead single from Grande’s upcoming album Petal, due July 31. Actor Justin Long co-stars in the video, playing a man who appears to bury Grande before her presence begins following him through a string of unsettling scenes.
Directed by Christian Breslauer, the clip leans into horror imagery without losing the emotional center of the song. Long’s character crashes, burns, and unravels as Grande appears like a ghost from a relationship he cannot erase.
