Depeche Mode have announced a new film project tied to their recent touring period. The film is titled Depeche Mode: M and centers on three concerts the band played in Mexico City in 2023 during the Memento Mori tour.
The performances were recorded at Foro Sol, where the band played to sold out crowds. The film does not follow the format of a traditional concert movie. Instead, it combines live footage with scenes that focus on Mexican cultural traditions connected to death, including Día de los Muertos.
The project is directed by Fernando Frías. The narrative approach reflects themes already present in the band’s recent work, released after the death of founding member Andy Fletcher in 2022.
