MGM+ has approved an eight-episode drama series inspired by the Western classic The Magnificent Seven. The project comes from writer Tim Kring, known for Heroes and Touch. Netflix has canceled Boots after one season. The military drama starred Miles Heizer and Vera Farmiga and was the final series from late producer Norman Lear. Boots holds a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Based on Greg Cope White’s memoir The Pink Marine, the eight-episode series followed closeted recruit Cameron Cope (Heizer), navigating the 1990s U.S. Marine Corps. (Story URL)
Arkansas will become the first state to end PBS programming in July 2026, following federal funding cuts. The station will rebrand to Arkansas TV on June 30th. CEO Carlton Wing said the station’s mission remains unchanged, promising increased local programming focus including children’s, food, and history series.
