Sharon Osbourne is actively seeking to block the release of early Black Sabbath demos recorded in 1969. The project is set to come out under the band’s original name, Earth, with the band’s former manager, Jim Simpson, planning to release the recordings as Earth: The Legendary Lost Tapes. Despite Simpson’s repeated intentions to release the nine demo recordings on his Big Bear Records label, Osbourne insists the band opposes the release, highlighting that Black Sabbath members have never heard the tapes and were never offered royalties. In an Instagram post on Saturday (November 5) and an email sent to Simpson, Osbourne challenged his label’s credibility, and warned of legal action if the demos are released without the band’s consent. “Black Sabbath don’t take things lying down,” Osbourne wrote, while threatening that “you can be assured that if you go ahead with this against the Band’s wishes we will take any action where their rights are infringed, both here and in America.” (Consequence of Sound)
