Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson performed a powerful rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Los Angeles Kings’ home opener against the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night (October 7) at Crypto Arena. The British heavy metal legend was sporting a custom “Dickinson” Kings jersey during his rendition, while the Maiden classic “Fear of the Dark” was also played in the arena during the game to psych up the crowd. Dickenson’s recent performance of the anthem follows his earlier rendition before the Pittsburgh Steelers home opener against the Seattle Seahawks on September 14. Sadly, Dickinson didn’t bring any luck to the home teams, who lost both games where he sang the national anthem. The singer was in Los Angeles after wrapping up his fall solo tour in support of his latest album, The Mandrake Project, on October 5 at The Wiltern. (Consequence of Sound)
