Taylor Swift’s fans are ecstatic after yesterday’s surprising reveal of her upcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which fittingly was announced at precisely 12:12 a.m. EST on August 12. Swifties are now eagerly uncovering years of hidden Easter eggs and cryptic hints about Taylor’s new project, which date back to her 2022 album, Midnights, and The Eras Tour. The album’s vibrant orange color scheme and references to showgirl themes have been deciphered through music videos and tour visuals used by Taylor in the past. Most tellingly, Swift’s newly curated Spotify playlist features songs exclusively produced by Max Martin and Shellback, signaling a possible sonic shift from longtime collaborators Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner. All of this only builds the anticipation ahead of Swift’s upcoming appearance on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, on Wednesday (August 13), where the cover art and other details about the new album will likely be revealed.
