On Wednesday (July 23), Oasis released an official live recording of ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ from the opening night of their hometown reunion residency at Manchester’s Heaton Park that ran from July 11-20. Oasis played five sold-out shows to 80,000 fans each night, marking the Gallagher brothers’ first Manchester performance together in 16 years. The track, from their multi-platinum 1994 debut album, Definitely Maybe, captures the raw energy of the night, with Liam Gallagher’s powerful vocals and spirited crowd participation coming through in the live recording. During an early instrumental break, Liam exclaims, “Well that was fu**ing biblical; beautiful. Respect.” The band will continue their hotly-anticipated Live ‘25 reunion tour with a five-night run at London’s historic Wembley Stadium beginning on Friday (July 25), where they will be supported by former Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft and Cast.
