French actor Gerard Depardieu given an 18-month suspended sentence by a Paris court yesterday after being found guilty of sexually assaulting two women during the filming of The Green Shutters in 2021. The women, a set decorator and assistant director, accused Depardieu of inappropriate touching and harassment. Depardieu denied the accusations, with conflicting versions of the encounters presented in court. The actor is also facing rape and sexual assault allegations from actress Charlotte Arnould in a separate case. Depardieu, whose actions have provoked a seminal moment for the #MeToo movement in France, has been accused by more than 13 women overall. (Variety)
