An original screen-used 3-foot model of E.T. from Steven Spielberg’s 1982 film E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, along with other items from special effects artist Carlo Rambaldi (also known for films like King Kong, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Alien, The NeverEnding Story, Conan the Destroyer and Dune) will be auctioned by Sotheby’s. The model, valued at $600,000-900,000, is the headlining item, along with rare sketches, animatronic studies, and two screen-used sand worm models from Dune (est. $15,000-20,000). Items from Blade Runner, Total Recall, Dune, Labyrinth, The Wizard of Oz and Jurassic Park franchise are also included in the collection. (THR)
