The legendary concert film, Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii, will be reintroduced to theaters with a modern touch this spring after being meticulously restored and remastered by musician Steven Wilson. The film, now named Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII, will hit select movie theaters and IMAX screens on April 24, and will include unreleased footage and interviews with all four members of the band. “Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii is a rare and unique document of the band performing live in the period prior to The Dark Side Of The Moon,” Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason said in a statement. In addition to the newly restored concert film, a soundtrack album featuring Wilson’s new mix will also be available on May 2. This marks the first time the live set will be available on vinyl, and the first official release of the music as a stand-alone album. (Rolling Stone)
