In a recent interview with Mojo magazine, Phil Collins revealed that due to his ongoing health issues, he has lost interest in creating new music or returning to the recording studio. The 74-year-old rock legend has faced multiple physical challenges in recent years – including a spinal injury in 2007 which caused severe nerve damage and “drop foot,” as well as a 2017 head injury – and says that his ongoing illness has caused him to be reluctant about pursuing new projects. “I keep thinking I should go downstairs to the studio and see what happens. But I’m not hungry for it anymore,” he said. “The thing is, I’ve been sick. I mean, very sick…,” though he didn’t elaborate on his current health status. Despite his setbacks, Collins is celebrating his distinguished legacy with Genesis in a forthcoming boxed set commemorating the 50th anniversary of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, which is due out in June. Collins last album was the 2010 covers collection, Going Back, and his last record featuring original material was 2002’s Testify. (Variety)
