Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio will produce a new film based on an idea by Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt. The planned Hawaii-based crime story, which some are comparing to past Scorsese classics like The Departed and Goodfellas. While the project’s realization hinges on securing a major distributor, it is set to be scripted by Nick Bilton, best known for the 2021 HBO documentary Fake Famous. Johnson and Blunt, who previously collaborated on Disney’s Jungle Cruise, reportedly presented the idea to Scorsese and DiCaprio, which then led to Bilton’s recruitment as the writer. (Variety)
