Daniel Craig has dropped out of playing DC hero Sgt Rock in an upcoming film directed by Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name, Bones & All). No official reason was given, but sources mention scheduling conflicts with his wife, Rachel Weisz, and the lack of awards for Craig and Guadagnino’s previous collaboration, Queer. The production is now considering Jeremy Allen White as the 1950’s comic character, who leads a ragtag group of soldiers during World War Two. Previous adaptations with Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger failed to launch. Craig will next return as detective Benoit Blanc in Wake Up, Dead Man, the third film of the Knives Out franchise.
