Benmont Tench, longtime keyboardist for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, is releasing his first solo album in over a decade titled, The Melancholy Season, on March 7th via Dark Horse Records. The celebrated musician has also announced a 2025 tour in support of his forthcoming record, and shared a music video for the title track, which is also the project’s lead single. The Melancholy Season is produced by Jonathan Wilson, and includes 13 songs featuring contributions from Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith, Nickel Creek’s Sara Watkins, and Jenny O. This is Tench’s first full-length release since his 2014 solo debut, You Should Be So Lucky.
