On Thursday (October 24), the NFL announced that Machine Gun Kelly will be the headliner during the halftime festivities at the New York Giants vs. Carolina Panthers game taking place in Munich, Germany on November 10. The event will be held at Allianz Arena, which is the home of legendary soccer club Bayern Munich. MGK’s recent single, “Lonely Road,” features a collaboration with Jelly Roll, and interpolates John Denver’s country classic, “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” which has become a popular German gameday anthem. Tim Tubito, the NFL’s Director of Event and Game Presentation, says that Machine Gun Kelly’s performance will cap off “an incredible season of international games with a performance from one of the most dynamic talents in music today. We’re always striving to deliver world-class entertainment that resonates with our international fans.” (Variety)
