The family of Tupac Shakur has hired New York attorney Alex Spiro to look into any possible connections that Sean “Diddy” Combs had with the rapper’s death. Shakur was only 25 years old when he was shot and killed while driving a car in Las Vegas back in September of 1996. Onetime gang leader Duane “Keefe D” Davis was arrested in September 2023 and eventually charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon in connection to Shakur’s murder. Davis’ trial begins in March 2025, and he has previously claimed that Combs had offered him $1 million to put a hit on Shakur. Back in 2008, the Los Angeles Times published a report tying Combs’ associates to Shakur’s murder, with Diddy claiming at the time, “The story is a lie. It is beyond ridiculous and completely false. Neither (the late rapper Notorious B.I.G.) nor I had any knowledge of any attack before, during or after it happened.” (Billboard)
