Mary J. Blige has announced that she will be executive producing multiple new projects for Lifetime. Blige’s new creative agreement with the cable network begins with Family Affair, a project inspired by Blige’s 2001 song, which debuts in 2025 as part of the network’s Voices of a Lifetime series. This new film follows up on Blige’s two Lifetime movies from 2023, Real Love and Strength of a Woman. Ajiona Alexus and Da’Vinchi are set to star in Mary J. Blige’s Family Affair, reprising their roles from Blige’s previous Lifetime pictures. Family Affair will be directed by Troy Scott, produced by Front Street Pictures, and will be based on a script written by Rachel Ingram. The movie will enter production this month. This news continues a big year for Mary J. Blige, who will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on October 19, before releasing a new album, Gratitude, on November 15, and hitting the road in 2025 on her For My Fans Tour. (Variety)
