Mattel is introducing two new Barbies to promote inclusivity in their Fashionista line. One is a blind doll, with features designed to aid kids with low vision, including vibrant clothing and a white cane with bendable arms. The packaging also includes braille and allows for easy access. The other doll, a Black Barbie with Down syndrome, showcases physical attributes typical of individuals with the condition and incorporates symbolism related to Down syndrome awareness in her dress. These additions align with Mattel’s commitment to diversity and are a result of collaborations with the American Foundation for the Blind and the National Down Syndrome Society. (People)
