Smashing Pumpkins just revealed that they will be releasing a new album titled, Aghori Mhori Mei, which will be released on August 2nd via Martha’s Music. The announcement of their new 10-track record comes in advance of the Pumpkins forthcoming North American stadium tour with Green Day, which starts up on July 29 in Washington, D.C. Aghori Mhori Mei will be the 13th studio album by Smashing Pumpkins, coming hot on the heels of 2023’s Atum.
Frontman Billy Corgan said in a statement: “In the writing of this new album I became intrigued with the well-worn axiom, ‘you can’t go home again.’ Which I have found personally to be true in form but thought well, what if we tried anyway? Not so much in looking backwards with sentimentality but rather as a means to move forward; to see if in the balance of success and failure that our ways of making music circa 1990-1996 would still inspire something revelatory.” (Consequence of Sound)
