Pearl Jam canceled their highly-anticipated shows in London on Saturday night and their two-night stand in Berlin on July 2-3 because of illness. Leading up to the show cancellations, frontman Eddie Vedder was apparently struggling with vocal issues according to fan reports from Pearl Jam’s previous shows in Dublin and Manchester. “The Pearl Jam concert scheduled for Saturday, June 29th at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London has regrettably been canceled due to illness in the band,” read Pearl Jam’s statement on June 28. “This decision was the last thing we wanted to have to make. There was simply no other option based on our current health and also having to avoid further damage.” The cancellations of PJ’s Berlin shows were announced on Sunday night, with a statement saying: “Despite everyone’s best efforts, the band has yet to make a full recovery.” (Louder Sound)
