Cirque du Soleil has launched a movie and TV studio to create content based on its live stage shows such as Kà, Love, and Mystère. Ridley Scott has been recruited to adapt one of its initial projects, a feature film based on the water-themed stage show O. The performance, which is staged at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, is set above a 1.5 million-gallon pool of water and features synchronized swimming in a theater designed to mimic a 14th-century European opera house. “We cannot wait to come together and bring the incredible world of ‘O’ to the big screen for audiences around the world,” said Scott Free Productions president Michael Pruss.
