Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero, the concert documentary that premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival, will air on HBO on January 27th (and will also be available on Max). “The directors follow Lil Nas X around as he navigates the perilous waters of sudden celebrity, faces backlash from conservatives for his proudly queer songs and imagery, and bonds with fans who embrace his ability to bridge gaps while staying true to himself,” Rolling Stone wrote about the movie last year. The timing of the doc is no coincidence: Lil Nas X says his “comeback” starts next week with a new song.
