Beyonce attended the world premiere of her new concert film, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, in Los Angeles on Saturday. Most details were kept secret, even from guests, whose invitations included only a 7 PM start time and a “cozy opulence” dress code. They only learned the venue, the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, less than 24 hours before the start time. Attendees included Lizzo, Janelle Monáe, former Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Halle Bailey, Ava DuVernay, Tyler Perry, Issa Rae, Laverne Cox, Niecy Nash-Betts, Gabrielle Union, and many more. Everyone received silver envelopes with a travel-size sample of Beyoncé’s perfume, while popcorn was served in metal Renaissance buckets. A premiere will be held in London on Thursday. The film comes out Friday.
