Rick Springfield has just teamed up with Badfinger's Joey Molland for a remake of the band's “Love Is Gonna Come At Last.” The tune is a taster for a full-length covers project featuring various artists, which will include his new version of guitarist Molland's 1979 favorite from Badfinger's comeback album, Airwaves. Molland is also on the new version supplying vocals and bass guitar.
Springfield posted a message on Facebook stating, “Badfinger has always been one of my all-time favorite bands. In fact, I am often asked by journalists ‘What is the one song you had wished you had written?’ and my answer is ‘Baby Blue’. What a perfect song! Their music was and is immortal.”
The full-length Badfinger covers set will be released later this year with contributions from Springfield, Badfinger producer Todd Rundgren, Rick Wakeman, Matthew Sweet, Sonny Landreth, among others.
