- Actor John Stamos has posted on social media a never-before seen clip of Bruce Springsteen and John Fogerty jamming together — with him on drums. The 15-minute clip from Fogerty's surprise 50th birthday party, features snippets of such Creedence Clearwater Revival classics and covers as “Born On The Bayou,” “In The Midnight Hour,” “Proud Mary,” “Baby What You Want Me To Do,” “Cotton Fields,” “Green River,” and “Suzie Q” — and what appears to be a previously unheard Springsteen original “I’m Your Detail Man.”
- Neil Young posted his third “Fireside Sessions” video on his official website (NeilYoungArchives.com). Once again, the 30-minute home set was directed by Young's wife, actress Daryl Hannah, and featured such rarities and favorites as “New Mama,” “World On A String,” “Already One,” “See The Sky About To Rain,” “I Am A Child,” “Throw Your Hatred Down,” “Helpless,” and “Already One.” (Rolling Stone)
- Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters was among the many musicians that have taken to social media to pay homage to singer/songwriter John Prine. Prine died on April 7th at the age of 73 due to complications from coronavirus. Waters posted a clip of him in his home studio performing “Paradise” — one of the highlights of Prine's 1971 self-tiled debut album.
- Even more in-home, online live music video posts hit the net this week. Sting along with Jimmy Fallon & The Roots performed a self-quarantine version of the Police hit “Don't Stand So Close To Me” — and, as is normally the case, using only classroom instruments.
- Nick Lowe, along with teen son Roy on snare and brushes, performed a trio of tunes — the recently released “Trombone,” “Lay It On Me Baby,” from Lowe's upcoming EP, titled Lay It On Me, and his Brinsley Schwarz classic “(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace Love And Understanding.”
