Carrie Underwood added an unexpected dose of nu-metal to her set at the Velocity Festival in Dyersville, Iowa, on September 5, 2026.
During the performance, the country star covered Limp Bizkit’s 1999 song Break Stuff, giving the crowd a sharp change of pace from her usual material. The festival appearance also included several other rock selections, reflecting Underwood’s long-running interest in heavier music.
Her set featured songs associated with Linkin Park, Collective Soul and Papa Roach, expanding the show beyond country and into late-1990s and early-2000s rock. During Break Stuff, Underwood wore a backward red baseball cap, a visual nod to the style closely associated with Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst.
