The UK’s Royal Mint has unveiled a new commemorative coin honoring the Spice Girls, marking nearly three decades since the group first rose to global fame. The collectible release recognizes the cultural impact of the pop group that helped define the late 1990s with hits like Wannabe and the message of girl power.
The Royal Mint announced the design features silhouettes of all five members of the group along with their engraved signatures. On the reverse side, the coin carries the official portrait of King Charles III, consistent with other modern British coins.
Several collectible versions are available. Fans can choose a standard £5 coin or higher-end editions struck in silver and gold. The Mint has also introduced special packaging highlighting each member of the group: Baby, Ginger, Posh, Scary, and Sporty Spice. Each individual design is limited to 15,000 pieces worldwide.
