What this really means is that the Eagles now hold the top spot outright in U.S. album sales history. For years, Michael Jackson’s Thriller was often cited as the benchmark, but updated certification standards that include streaming have clarified the ranking, placing the Eagles six million units ahead of Jackson’s masterpiece.
