The Rolling Stones have stepped back from plans for a 2026 European stadium tour, including dates that were expected in Italy and the UK. The tour was never officially announced, but it is now confirmed that it will not move forward after internal discussions with promoters and organizers.
According to reports, the decision is linked to concerns raised by Keith Richards. The 82-year-old guitarist was reportedly unwilling to commit to the demanding schedule required for a full stadium tour across multiple countries. As a result, Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood informed tour organizers that the band would not be able to return on the road under those conditions. The report has been confirmed to Variety.
The cancellation comes as the band is completing work on new material. Media sources had already reported last summer that the group was finishing a new album, their second collaboration with producer Andrew Watt, following Hackney Diamonds released in 2023. The planned tour was expected to support that upcoming release.
