Bruno Mars has stepped back into the spotlight with fresh solo material. On Friday (Jan. 9), he released “I Just Might,” his first standalone single in years.
The track surfaced at midnight and leans toward a smooth, dancefloor-friendly sound shaped by disco and classic pop rather than current radio formulas. A matching video, co-directed by Mars and Daniel Ramos, keeps the focus squarely on performance. Mars appears in a green suit, surrounded by a band of doubles, moving through a tightly staged setup built on rhythm and presence. Nothing here asks for interpretation. It’s about feel.
“I Just Might” opens the rollout for Mars’ fourth studio album, “The Romantic,” due Feb. 27. The upcoming release will follow 2016’s “24K Magic,” his last solo full-length. In the years since, Mars spent most of his time touring and collaborating, putting his own album releases on hold.
