Disney’s Zootopia 2 dominated the Thanksgiving box office with $156 million domestically and $400 million internationally for a $556 million global debut. The animated sequel, featuring voices from Shakira, Quinta Brunson, and Macaulay Culkin, pushed Wicked: For Good to second place after one week at number one. Wicked earned $62.8 million in its second weekend, a 57% drop from its $150 million opening. Zootopia 2 significantly outperformed its 2016 predecessor, which opened with $75 million. The sequel earned $96.8 million excluding preview screenings. Now You See Me: Now You Don’t held third place with $7 million, while Predator: Badlands took fourth with $4.8 million. New releases included A24’s Eternity with $5.2 million and Chloe Zhao’s Hamnet earning $1.3 million in limited release. (Story URL)
