Legendary Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman recently underwent successful corrective brain surgery to treat normal pressure hydrocephalus, a neurological disorder that is also currently affecting Billy Joel. The condition, which can impact walking, bladder control, and memory, forced the 76-year-old Wakeman to postpone the July 2025 leg of his final solo tour, with dates rescheduled to March 2026. Despite the surgery, Wakeman reports no impact on his piano playing and is recuperating at home with his wife and pets. “I have to take things easy for a while but have been told by my surgeon that I will be perfectly fine to travel to America for the tour with my son Oliver in March and will be fine for all future engagements after that,” Wakeman shared in a statement on his website over the weekend. In addition to the upcoming U.S. tour with his son Oliver, Wakeman will also perform a series of charity concerts in the U.K. on December 19th and 20th. (Consequence of Sound)
