Adele is set to make her acting debut in a film adaptation of Anne Rice’s 1982 novel, Cry to Heaven, which will be directed and co-produced by Tom Ford, the fashion designer and director of 2009’s A Single Man and 2016’s Nocturnal Animals. Ford is reportedly financing the project himself, with filming set to begin in London in January. The movie has a planned release date for late 2026, and will feature co-stars Colin Firth, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Owen Cooper. Although Adele has no prior acting experience beyond a cameo as herself on a 2009 episode of Ugly Betty, the plotline revolving around 18th-century Italian opera singers aligns with her Grammy-winning musical background, though her specific role in the film remains undisclosed. Since concluding her 30 tour with a Las Vegas residency last year, Adele has taken an extended break from music. (Rolling Stone)
