Scotty McCreery and Hootie & the Blowfish’s new collaboration, “Bottle Rockets,” which reworks the band’s ’90s hit “Hold My Hand,” moves up two spots to reach No. 1 on this week’s Country Airplay chart. This marks McCreery’s sixth career chart-topper while becoming Hootie’s first No. 1 hit on the tally. The achievement also places Darius Rucker in unique company alongside Tyler Hubbard as the only artists who have topped the chart as both a solo act and with a group. The track becomes McCreery’s fastest climb to No. 1 after only 20 weeks, and gave his label, Triple Tigers, its first back-to-back Country Airplay chart-toppers, following the two-week rule of Russell Dickerson’s “Happen to Me.” “Bottle Rockets” is the first Country Airplay No. 1 hit for the 31-year-old McCreery since “Damn Strait,” which spent three weeks atop the chart in 2022.
