Bob Dylan is a late addition to the star-studded lineup at this Saturday’s Farm Aid festival, joining fellow performers Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Kenny Chesney, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, Billy Strings, Margo Price, Steve Earle, and more, in support of family farmers in need. Since its founding in 1985 – which was sparked by Dylan’s call to aid struggling U.S. farmers during a Live Aid concert – Farm Aid has raised over $85 million to fund programs assisting farmers year-round. Farm Aid 40 will take place on September 20 at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, with Dylan making a grand return to the University of Minnesota campus where he was once a student back in 1959. CNN will provide exclusive broadcast coverage of the festival, with CNN Chief Climate Correspondent Bill Weir providing on-the-ground reporting, while John Berman and Laura Coates will co-anchor the coverage.
