Prime Video has confirmed that Sophie Turner will play Lara Croft in its upcoming Tomb Raider series. Turner, known for her role in Game of Thrones, was chosen over other actresses like Mackenzie Davis, Emma Mackey, and Lucy Boynton. The series, created and co-written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, will begin production on January 19th. Turner will be the third actress to portray the iconic video game character in a live-action adaptation, following Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander. Waller-Bridge, an avid fan of the franchise, says the team is “wildly passionate” about Lara Croft and promises an “outrageous, brave, and hilarious” take on the beloved character. (Story URL)
