This unexpected chart surge marks Radiohead’s fourth Hot 100 hit of their multiple Grammy-winning career, and their first appearance on the tally in 17 years, following “Creep” in 1993, “High And Dry” in 1996, and “Nude” in 2008. The song’s resurgence is driven by Gen Z’s emotional connection to its haunting yet hopeful tone, often paired with cinematic or heartfelt videos on the platform. While Radiohead haven’t released a new album since 2016’s A Moon Shaped Pool, the band just released the live record, Hail to the Thief (Live Recordings 2003—2009), on August 13, and recently formed a new business entity earlier this year, which suggests that an upcoming new chapter for the band is possibly on the horizon.
