Deftones are partnering with Pitchblack Playback to host immersive listening parties for their new album, Private Music, in select cities across the globe on August 19-21. The events will offer fans the chance to experience the album in total darkness through a premiere sound system “with no distractions.” These sensory-deprivation events will take place in Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, and more, with limited tickets available. “In today’s stressful modern world, we all need spaces where we can cut ourselves off from the noise and distraction of daily life, and we’re proud that our events can provide them,” reads a statement from Pitchblack Playback. Private Music was produced by Nick Raskulinecz and recorded in Malibu, Joshua Tree, and Nashville, and it drops on August 22. The release date coincides with the start of Deftones’ North American tour, which kicks off in Vancouver and finishes on September 19 in Atlanta, with Phantogram and IDLES opening select dates.
