In a new interview in Rolling Stone, David Byrne firmly rules out any plans for a Talking Heads reunion in the future. The rumors were fueled when Byrne recently got together with his former bandmates – Chris Frantz, Tina Weymouth, and Jerry Harrison – for the first time in over 20 years at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival to celebrate the re-release of their Stop Making Sense concert film. Byrne says that they “felt more comfortable with one another” at the event, while noting that, “Musically, I’ve gone to a very different place,” which includes his forthcoming new solo album, Who Is The Sky?, which is due out on September 5. “It’s pretty much impossible to recapture where you were at that time in your life,” Byrne says of the reunion idea. “You realize you can’t turn the clock back. When you hear music at a certain point in your life, it means a lot. But it doesn’t mean you can go back there and make it happen again.” (Billboard)
