Software firm Astronomer announced the resignation of CEO Andy Byron following controversy over his attendance at a recent Coldplay concert. In a statement on X, Astronomer said co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy will serve as interim CEO while the board seeks a permanent replacement. Astronomer stated its leaders are “expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability,” and that standard was not met in this incident. On Wednesday, Byron was caught on the stadium’s “kiss cam” with his arms around a woman who was not his wife during the Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium. Coldplay’s Chris Martin remarked, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.” The viral video prompted Astronomer to place Byron on leave on Friday before accepting his resignation the next day.
