On Monday (June 23), The Lemonheads announced details of their highly-anticipated new album, Love Chant, which marks the indie rock band’s first album of original material in nearly two decades. The 11-track record is set to be released by Fire Records on October 24, and features collaborations with musicians such as Dinosaur Jr.’s J Mascis, Juliana Hatfield, and producer Bryce Goggin, and was recorded in Brazil with producer Apollo Nove. The band also shared the project’s lead single, “In The Margin,” which features a Antonia Teixeira-directed lyric video. “I wanted to have a riffy song, so I wrote riffs all over it,” says frontman Evan Dando of the single. “The body of the song was Marciana’s (Marciana Jones). It’s like a full-on 8th-grade girl revenge song.” The new record will also be accompanied by a major world tour starting in London in August, with North American dates following in November.
