Grammy-winning jazz musician Christian McBride has collaborated with former Police bandmates Sting and Andy Summers on a new version of the Synchronicity bonus track, “Murder by Numbers.” This marks the duo’s first collaboration since The Police’s 2007-2008 reunion tour. The track is the lead single from McBride’s upcoming big band album, Without Further Ado, Vol. 1, which is set to release on August 29, and features other guest artists Samara Joy, Jeffrey Osborne, José James, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Dianne Reeves, and Antoinette Henry. “I am absolutely thrilled to have Sting and Andy Summers join me for one of their songs,” said McBride in a press statement. “Sting continues to evolve gracefully as an artist, and Andy still plays with the sophisticated fire and grit he has always possessed.” The Christian McBride Big Band will showcase new material from the album at the Newport Jazz Festival on August 3.
