Al Pacino met with Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican on Monday, marking the first reported official audience between the American pontiff and a major Hollywood star. Pacino was joined by Andrea Iervolino, the producer of the upcoming film Maserati: The Brothers, in which Pacino portrays businessman Vincenzo Vaccaro. Iervolino described the private meeting as a “moment of profound spiritual and cultural inspiration,” centered around “shared values” such as “family unity, love, compassion and the importance of contributing to the common good” – values that “resonate deeply with the story of the Maserati brothers.” Pope Leo XIV, elected just last month, is the first American pope.
