Talking Heads recently took to social media to tease a forthcoming major announcement on Thursday (June 5), which coincides with the 50th anniversary of their first live performance together. On June 5, 1975, Talking Heads played their very first show, opening for the Ramones at New York City’s iconic CBGB. The mysterious social media post – which features a clip of the moon at night and the sun emerging from behind the clouds, along with the date – has prompted fans to express hope for a possible reunion tour from the legendary rock band, who haven’t performed together since 1984, and officially disbanded in 1991. Talking Heads have recently announced a deluxe box set reissue of their second studio album, 1978’s More Songs About Buildings and Food, which includes a newly remastered version of the album, alongside rarities and previously unreleased tracks, a complete 1978 live show, and a 60-page hardback book with new liner notes by the band.
