On Wednesday (May 21), The Lemonheads frontman Evan Dando officially announced the upcoming release of his memoir, Rumors of My Demise, set to be published on October 7 by Simon & Schuster imprint Gallery Books. The 304-page autobiography details Dando’s journey through the trials and tribulations of his music career and personal life, from his early days in the ’80s hardcore scene to his rise as a ’90s alt-rock icon. The memoir promises to capture “a portrait of an artist who lives wholly for his music, and one that makes no apologies for doing so.” The book announcement comes as The Lemonheads prepare to release their first album of original material in 19 years, Love Chant, which is due out in the fall, and includes the recently released singles “Deep End” and “Sad Cinderella.” The band is currently on an Australia/New Zealand tour, and will hit the UK and Europe in August.
